SME Registration Policy

SME offers several types of member and nonmember registration options. For more information about a specific type of registration, please review the information below.


Registration Policy

All attendees and authors at the SME Minnesota Conference are required to register.. Badges are required for admittance to the technical sessions and social functions. The appropriate badge is required for admittance to the technical sessions and expo and will be checked at the entrance of all activities. Exhibits-only registrations are NOT permitted to attend the technical sessions.

Wire Transfer Policy

If paying by wire transfer, the registrant is responsible for paying any bank fees associated with the wire transfer. When contacting your bank about the wire, you will need to request that 57A field is changed from either “Share” or “SHA” to “OUR”. This will make all fees paid upfront by the sending party.

Student Registration Policy

Student registrants for the SME Minnesota Conference must meet eligibility requirements. SME requires that an individual must be attending a college, university or institute of higher education on a full-time basis to qualify for student registration rates. SME cannot process student registrations without evidence that you are a full-time student. Students enrolled in 12 or more semester credit hours are considered full-time. When submitting your registration, please provide registration confirmation from your educational institution. Acceptable confirmation includes: transcript, most recent report card or official school registration documents. Student registration forms without this information will not be processed.

Cancellation/Substitution Policy

If circumstances require you to cancel your SME Minnesota Conference registration, you must do so in writing. Written notice must be sent to meetings@smenet.org or by mail to SME Minnesota Conference Registration, c/o SME, 12999 E. Adam Aircraft Circle, Englewood, CO 80112. Cancellations received by March 9, 2020 will receive a full refund, less a $100 processing fee. There are no refunds for no-shows and cancellations postmarked after March 9, 2020. Substitutions will be accepted in writing at no charge until March 9, 2020. After March 9, 2020, a $25 fee will be charged for substitutions. NO REFUNDS for Registration or ticketed events will be issued after the March 9, 2020 deadline.

Registrants are responsible for cancellation of their own hotel accommodations
